Initial Implant Assessment
We begin with a clinical examination of your teeth, gums and the bite, plus a review of your medical history and medications. X-rays and, where helpful, a cone beam CT scan assess bone volume and anatomy. The assessment also identifies gum disease or tooth decay that needs treatment before implant surgery, and it helps us set realistic expectations for timing and any preparatory care.
Bespoke Treatment Planning
You receive a written plan that lists recommended stages, expected timings and the likely number and position of implants. The plan describes any preparatory care, whether temporary teeth are needed and alternatives if surgery is not suitable. We outline the likely appointments and explain the choices so you know what will happen and when.
Implant Placement And Healing
Implant surgery is normally performed under local anaesthetic. The implant is placed in the jaw and the soft tissue closed to allow healing. Some cases permit a temporary restoration at placement; others require a period of bone integration before the final restoration can be attached. We explain the expected healing timeline and any restrictions that support reliable recovery.
Restoration And Long-Term Care
When healing is sufficient we take impressions and fit the final crown, bridge or denture, adjusting appearance and bite. Long-term care includes regular reviews and hygiene visits to monitor gum health, occlusion and implant components. Examples of before and after cases are available in our
smile gallery.
