How Do I Care For My Brace And Teeth During My Orthodontic Treatment?

It is important that you continue to have your teeth checked by your dentist when you are having orthodontic treatment. You also need to take extra care of your teeth and mouth.

Clean your teeth carefully every day, including between your teeth. Appliances are delicate and you need to make sure you clean them carefully so that they do not break. Your dentist or hygienist will be able to show you special techniques to use depending on the appliance you are wearing.

Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks. Avoid 'snacking' on foods or drinks containing sugars, and on fizzy drinks. Sticky food such as toffees or chewing gum are a problem with braces and hard food should be eaten with great caution in order not to damage your orthodontic appliances.

Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and in addition we suggest you use a fluoride-containing mouthwash. We will recommend special brushes to use for cleaning your fixed appliance.

Invisalign FAQs

If you compare Invisalign to traditional braces, the key difference is that there are no metal brackets or wires and unlike traditional ‘train tracks’ you can remove the aligners for special occasions, and indeed daily to eat and to keep up your oral hygiene.

Aligners are more comfortable and not as painful as traditional braces. With the latter you are required to have the wires changed and tightened, which can cause great discomfort. Aligners on the other hand, apply a constant gentle force on the teeth without causing much pain.

Finally, you have a certain amount of flexibility as you will only need to see your doctor every 8 to 12 weeks. This means less maintenance – perfect for those with a busy schedule.
I would recommend the treatment to anyone from the age of 16 upwards, with no upper age limit.
The most important thing is good oral health – if you are not orally fit, it can be contraindicated to go into treatment. You must be careful about treatment choices if you have crowns or implants as this can provide limitations – you can’t move crowns or implants, just straighten the teeth around them.
The average package cost ranges from £2,500 to £4,500 depending on the complexity of the treatment.
Invisalign treatment moves your teeth by applying gentle, constant force, but some people do feel temporary discomfort for the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners. It’s normal and is a sign your clear aligners are working and are transforming your smile.

Cfast Cosmetic Braces FAQs

Cfast uses clear orthodontic brackets and tooth-coloured nickel-titanium wires. The treatment works much like that using clear aligners, but tooth movement is much more predictable and usually more than twice as quick.

The nickel-titanium wires put gentle pressure on the brackets to level and align the teeth with minimal discomfort to the patient. The gingiva follows this movement to achieve a fully aesthetic outcome.
Cfast is a fast, effective and affordable treatment when adults are seeking to correct their smiles. Because we do not claim to address major orthodontic issues, Cfast can be done very quickly, making it more affordable than other orthodontic options.
With clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires, Cfast is barely noticeable – and worn for only a fraction of the time compared to traditional braces.
